What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

The Government of Canada introduced the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) to make dental care more affordable and accessible for individuals who may not be able to afford essential treatments to maintain their oral health.

How Does It Work?

Starting in May 2024, the CDCP will provide publicly funded dental benefits to those without private dental insurance and a household income below $90,000. The plan helps cover a portion of dental treatment costs to prevent and manage oral health issues, which can help protect against more serious health conditions.

How Can I Apply for the CDCP?

As of November 2024, seniors 65+, children under the age of 18, as well as adults with a valid disability tax credit certificate can apply. Beginning 2025 all remaining eligible Canadian residents can apply online via the official Government of Canada website.
